From traditional to digital media

The months of November and December will be specifically dedicated to the training of Bitzmob working group components. Sunday November 22 and Sunday 20 December, the working group will meet Alessandro Ludovico, editor of Neural magazine and expert of new media. Alessandro Ludovico will address several themes related to the transition from traditional media to digital media, with particular reference to the logic and structure of the online market. The meetings will be focussed mainly on the issues and solutions adopted by independent music labels during this delicate transition.

 

Alessandro Ludovico a media critic and editor in chief of Neural magazine from 1993, (Honorary Mention, Prix Ars Electronica 2004). He is the author of: ‘Virtual Reality Handbook’ (1992), ‘Internet Underground.Guide’ (1995), ‘Future Digital Sounds’, (2000) and co-edited ‘Mag.Net Reader’ (2006). He’s a chief contributors of the Nettime community and one of the founders of the ‘Mag.Net (Electronic Cultural Publishers organization). He is also an advisor for the Documenta 12’s Magazine Project. He teaches ‘Computer Art’ and ‘Interface Aesthetics’ at the Academy of Art in Carrara. Since 2005 he collaborates with Ubermorgen and P.Cirio on projects such as ‘Google Will Eat Itself’ (Honorary Mention Prix Ars Electronica 2005, Rhizome Commission 2005, nomination Prix Transmediale 2006) and ‘Amazon Noir’ (1st prize Stuttgarter Filmwinter 2007, Honorary Mention Share Prize 2007) projects.
